The Zodiac-class starship was a type of Federation Starfleet vessel in use during the 24th century, with a design lineage traced back to the Baton Rouge, Belknap and Renaissance classes. Developed alongside the New Orleans-class frigate, Zodiacs entered service in 2347. Successful design and performance resulted in 100+ ships of the class built over a 20-year span, with the last being USS Diamond. (Starbase23.net)

This class was still in service during the Dominion War, when the Zodiac-class USS Yorktown was destroyed in the Battle of Cardassia (2375) (Starbase23.net).
