Yanith was a Bajoran Resistance fighter in the same cell as Limis Vircona and Hasin Arnit. He had been a friend of Limis since infancy.
In 2351, he was involved in the raid on the Tamulna mining facility. His role was to allow himself to be captured and enslaved by the Cardassians. This way, he could get an inside look at the facility while clandestinely communicating with the Resistance. When the raid took place, he was caught communicating with the Resistance and brutally beaten by a group of Cardassian overseers. His death the next day left Limis with emotional scars for years to come, momentarily leading her to question whether all the sacrifices she had made in her life were worth eventually liberating Bajor from the Cardassians.
