This page lists Whakanui-class starships from Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions. These may be separated into individual articles as more information becomes available.

USS Auckland (NCC-4100)[]

The USS Auckland (NCC-4100) was an Whakanui-class starship. Antonio Fernandes was born aboard the Auckland. His parents, Drs. Xavier and Maria Fernandes used the Auckland as a testing ground for an experimental coaxial warp drive. When Tony was a teenager, the testing of the Auckland's experimental coaxial warp drive failed, severely damaging the Auckland and eventually destroying it. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Salvation")

By 2372, Starfleet had replaced the Auckland at least once. The Nebula-class USS Auckland (NCC-65201) was one of these successors (if not the first). (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Salvation")

Named for the New Zealand conurbation Auckland.

USS Whakanui (NCC-4000)[]

The USS Whakanui (NCC-4000) was the prototype of the Whakanui-class Federation light cruiser starship in Starfleet service in the 23rd and 24th centuries.

USS Wellington (NCC-4103)[]

The USS Wellington (NCC-4103) was a Whakanui-class Federation light cruiser starship in Starfleet service in the 23rd and 24th centuries. Sometime in the early 24th century, this ship had been destroyed and was subsequently replaced by the Niagara-class USS Wellington.
