Valeris was a Vulcan Starfleet officer from the 23rd century who served on the USS Enterprise-A.

In 2293, Valeris was part of the conspiracy to prevent the historic peace settlement between the Klingon Empire and United Federation of Planets following the Praxis incident. Using her position on the Enterprise she helped frame James T. Kirk and Leonard McCoy for the assassination of Klingon Chancellor Gorkon and murdered the real culprits. She was exposed and through a mind meld Spock was able to gain invaluable intelligence that prevented the conspirators from assassinating the Federation President. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)

She was court-martialed and sent to the Federation maximum security prison on I'Tana IV.

She later escaped with the help of a mysterious accomplice known only as Shadow. Once free from I'Tana IV she secured the USS Anzio with a small band of pirates. (Star Trek: Pirates Cove)
