The States PT/Troop Cruiser is the first operational troop missile cruiser in Starfleet. These unique vessels have gained the respect and admiration of their crews because of their handling characteristics and offensive capabilities. The overall design came from Terran MACOS Engineering design teams to create a cruiser with photon torpedoes as its main weapons. And the main military troops number to 160. And it is first ship in starfleet to have holodeck for troop. Plus it has the only two transporters that has 80 pods each.

The History of the USS Arkansas States Class
The Third USS Arkansas (NCC-6300) was a States-class. The States-class PT / Troop cruisers were a series of Nine troop missile cruisers commissioned in the late 2300s, which served in the Starfleet through to mid 2380s. The ships were derived from the earlier Starstalker Class missile cruisers . They were decommissioned as part of the a newer fleet in the early 2300s .....
Ship Events in 2309s to 2320s The 2310s marked an abrupt shift towards more conservative lifestyles between the Starfleet and Military cultural revolutions which took place in the 2260s and 2290s and the Klingon Empire. This decade has been somewhat derided since Romulans subsequently go into isolation. And new threat like Cardassian Union, Sheliak ,T'Lani, Satarrans Lysian Alliance,Orion,Gorn,and Tholian.
Ship Events in 2320s to 2340s The 2320s though 2340s for the States class was generally classified as having moved away from the more conservative 2310s, to otherwise refiting the older ship's to new Treknology's in 2320s and 2330s.
Ship Events in 2350s to 2380s The 2350s though 2380s for the States class was reclassified as a PT cruiser.
Battle Events First Battle for a USS Arkansas State Class March 2311- A fleet Gorn vessels ,two Talon class ; Lancer-4 class ;three Talon class invaded Rigel XII system. Four Starfleet vessels Responded USS Arkansas a States class ;USS Port Arthur a Newton Class ; USS Celt a Shelley Military Transport class ;Two Excelsior Command Cruiser the USS Hood , USS Repules.Starfleet toke Rigel XII system back in 2hrs.
History Main article: History of USS Arkansas The Mars Second ShipYard was originally known as Red Shipyard and was not officially Major Shipyard untill 2305.
The ShipYard annually handles 10 smaller shipyards including approximately 6 cruise yards . On 28 May, Arkansas departed Mars Second ShipYard to carry out shakedown training in the Sol System. That cruise included more tests and trials, port visits to Vulcan and Andoria .Considered by many on Terra's to be the most or among the most powerful ship's to built in Sol system at the time. The warship returned to for three trial runs on 25 June and began post-shakedown availability at the Newport News Shipbuilding Co. six days later. Arkansas completed shakedown cruise on 15 March and put to serves for six years before returning to portin June 2315 for routine refit. The warship did not get underway again until one year later into late 2316.
On 7 July 2381 USS Arkansas and all States Class remaining was decommissioned and entered in the Starfleet Ship Recycling Program.

[edit] Design
The teams took the old Starstalker Class secondary hull spaceframe, and Constitution II Class primary hull. These ships have so captured the heart and spirit of the Terra that the majority are crewed solely by them. All have been named for all States of Terra. The States class forms the core of all squadrons in the famed 'Beta Terra Fleet', and is an integral part of front line troop cruisers forces for Star Fleet.
The warp engines are mounted like the Starstalker Class and with Excelsior warp engines . As with all Starfleet vessels, the engines can be jettisoned in case of an overload in the matter/anti-matter chamber.
The States PT/Troop Cruisers saw great use in battles against the Klingon, Tholian, Breen and Romulan empires. The ability to saturate a target with photon torpedo fire proved an excellent way to cripple targets at range, making all the strongest cruisers and the fast transporte assault troops sufficiently so skirmish units could finish the job.
