USS Yeager (NCC-61893) was a Nebula-class cruiser on active duty in Starfleet during the 24th century. She was commissioned in 2364.

Yeager was deployed to the Starfleet First Fleet for all of her operational lifetime. (Starfleet International: Vessel Registry, 0801.07 revision)

Nomenclature[]

The ship was named after Chuck Yeager (1923-2020), an American test pilot who was the first person to break the speed of sound, as well as various namesake starships.

Fan organizations[]

USS Yeager has also been a chapter of Starfleet International, based in Bluefield, West Virginia, since 1986.

The chapter's original metaphor was that of a Cyane-class heavy frigate, registry NCC-1893. In 1993, the chapter president was Jerry Conner. (Communiqué 54)
