The USS Violet Baudelaire (NCC-84860) was a Sovereign-class Federation starship launched sometime in 2383. She was the second Federation vessel to bear the name. (The Devastating Discoveries)

History[]

The Violet Baudelaire she was constructed at the San Francisco Fleet Yards near Earth, with some parts constructed at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards.

About two years after her launch, the Violet Baudelaire reported a bizarre rupture in space somewhere in the Beta Quadrant: the first of the Nephilim invaders, of which the USS Sathanas, USS Ravana and the USS Behemoth had an unpleasant encounter.

Later that year, the Violet Baudelaire embarked on a series of hit-and-run attacks on various Nephilim forces. Among them was an attack on what is to be believed a lightly defended base, but turns out to be a staging area filled with hundreds of Nephilim ships. During the battle, a Nephilim boarding party boarded the ship, resulting in heavy casualties. When Russell was killed, Commander Harker was promoted to replace him.

In 2386, the Violet Baudelaire discovered that a Nephilim fleet was jumping, not randomly, but to systems with natural resources. The starship accidentally encountered the unfortunate trio of starships led by the Sathanas when it arrived ahead to scout the Nephilim target's projected next position (as it turned out, the Nephilim were jumping to systems near them). The starship captains joined forces to destroy a Nephilim heavy battleship successfully. However, the Violet Baudelaire broke off the attack to escape incoming Nephilim reinforcements. She apparently survived, as she sends the three stranded Starfleet vessels a coded transmission via subspace, telling them to go to the Bajoran wormhole.
