Nomenclature[]
The ship was named after the Battles of Saratoga -- 19 September and 07 October 1777 -- of the American Revolutionary War during Earth's 18th century.

The uniform insignia for the Saratoga was a representation of the Liberty Bell with the division insignia inside it.
Captain Tanner was the commanding officer of the Saratoga in 2267. A science officer was Lieutenant Commander Montgomery.

Star Trek: Avenger[]
