USS Pompey (NCC-506) was a Saladin-class destroyer on active duty in Starfleet during the 23rd century. (Star Fleet Technical Manual)

In the TOS novel: Dreadnought!, Pompey was misspelled Pompeii and was given the registry NCC-424.

Pompey was upgraded to eliminate the dorsal section and have two PB-32 (or similar) warp nacelles directly affixed to the primary hull, thus making it the prototype for the new Pompey-class destroyer.
