The Star Trek Expanded Universe Database is for fanon and related content. See Memory-Alpha.org for the canon Star Trek wiki.

The USS Galaxy (NX/NCC-70637) was the first Galaxy-class starship constructed. Originally launched with an NX-prefix, it was dropped to NCC once early trials were completed.

[edit] History

Captain Yawara Inokuma was deputy director of the Galaxy-class Starship Development Project and then executive officer of Galaxy during its first five-year mission. (Dockyard Review)

In 2362 Susan Core was assigned to Galaxy and would serve on the vessel until the beginning of 2367. (Star Trek: Swiftfire)

In 2367, the Galaxy made first contact with the reclusive Lelari. Galaxy linguistics officer Dakota Caldwell stayed on the planet as the Federation's cultural exchange officer. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Dakota")

Galaxy was part of the fleet to invade the Chin'toka system during the First Battle of Chin'toka in 2374. The Galaxy commanded an attack wing and was damaged when the Orbital weapon platforms came online and penetrated the ship's shields. (DS9: "Tears of the Prophets", Star Trek: Swiftfire: "Into the Fire")

Galaxy survived and would take part in the final battle of the Dominion War. (DS9: "What You Leave Behind")

After the war, Galaxy was drydocked at Utopia Planitia and spent the next two years undergoing an upgrade to the Galaxy (II)-class configuration. She was relaunched in late 2377. (Ships of the Star Fleet)

In 2379, Galaxy was redirected to Sector 1045 to meet up with other ships, forming Battle Group Omega to assist the USS Enterprise-E deal with the Reman threat. (Star Trek Nemesis)
