USŜ Espero was a Constellation-class cruiser under construction in the early 24th century. (Star Trek: Accord)

Espero was scheduled for launch in 2302 but was mothballed in early 2304 due to lack of funding. It remains in drydock at the Ohio Orbital Shipyards as of 2312.

BackgroundEdit

The name Espero was derived from the Esperanto word for "hope". The ship was intended for assignment in the New Colonies regions of the Triangle, as that area was transitioning from a military to a more civilian footing in the early 2300s. The name was thought particularly appropriate.
