USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-C)

The Star Trek Expanded Universe Database is for fanon and related content. See Memory-Alpha.org for the canon Star Trek wiki.

The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-C), the fourth Federation starship to carry the name, was an Ambassador-class starship. The Enterprise-C was commanded by Captain Rachel Garrett.

In 2344, the Enterprise-C was destroyed while responding to a distress call from the Klingon outpost on Narendra III which was under attack by four Romulan Warbirds.

During the battle, the Enterprise-C was transported to 2366 by a temporal rift. This created an alternate timeline in which a state of war existed between the Klingon Empire and the Federation. The Enterprise had taken severe damage to her warp nacelles and external hull, but 125 crew survived at that point. Her successor, the USS Enterprise-D, assisted in repairing the Enterprise-C, and the timeline was restored when Lieutenant Richard Castillo took the Enterprise back into the rift (Captain Garrett having been killed whilst in the future timeframe). (TNG: "Yesterday's Enterprise")

It was initially believed that the ship was lost with all hand, however over two decades later it was revealed that a number of the crew had survived and were taken prisoner by the Romulans. (TNG: "Redemption, Part II")
