USS Czar'ak (NCC-1798) was a Constitution-class heavy cruiser — of the Achernar-subclass — on active duty in Starfleet during at least the 23rd and early 24th centuries. (Ships of the Star Fleet, vol. 1)

Czar'ak was deployed to the Starfleet Sixth Fleet beginning in 2284. Her first commanding officer was Captain T. Dover (2284-2287), followed by Captain G. Anderson (later a Sixth Fleet commander) (2287-2289) and his son, Captain E. Anderson (2289-2291). Then-Captain D. Kloempken assumed command of the Czar'ak in 2291. Czar'ak became flagship of the Sixth Fleet in 2292, and Kloempken was promoted to Commodore.

Czar'ak was either refit to an Enterprise (II)-subclass standard — or replaced by a new-build Enterprise (II) subclass heavy cruiser that was given the registry NCC-1798-A.

In any case, Czar'ak-A was also deployed to the Sixth Fleet under Captain P. Kennedy, about 2294. (Starfleet International: Vessel Registry, 0801.07 revision, Communiqué 68)

As of 2321, it has been the flagship of Admiral Kloempken for many years.

Nomenclature[]

The ship is named for one of the four stars that make up Gamma Andromedae, which is about 350 light-years from Earth.
