The USS Atlas (NCC-75013) was an explorer starship of the Sovereign-class built by the Federation Starfleet. (Starfleet International)

Named after the Greek Titan who mythology tells holds the heavens above the Earth, the Atlas was commissioned in 2380, Stardate 57017.24 under the command of Captain Morgan Bateson.

In 2381, the Atlas fought as a part of a 40 ship armada against the massive Borg invasion.

Atlas was the flagship of the task force assigned to protect the planet Vulcan. When ten Borg cubes arrived at the system, the Atlas engaged the enemy using transphasic torpedoes. Bateson's ship was eventually able to destroy several cubes before the Borg could finally adapt to the weapon and started their counterstrike.

Most of the task force was destroyed, but the heavily-damaged Atlas managed to outmaneuver the Borg. When the collective started to fall into chaos due to Captain Erika Hernandez's link to the hive, the last Borg ships started to attack each other. The few that survived the fire exchange were destroyed by the Atlas, and Vulcan was saved again. (Star Trek Destiny: Lost Souls)

Following the invasion, the Atlas reported to Starbase 22, where station's counselor, Brian Ellis, counselled the Atlas medical staff. (STar Trek Destiny)

In March 2384, the Atlas was at Orion, in the Pi-3 Orionis system, while a secret summit between the Federation and the Gorn Hegemony was being held in the secure sub-levels of the Bank of Orion. (ST TNG Cold Equations: Silent Weapons)

Star Trek OnlineEdit

In STO, the Atlas is under the command of Captain David Hawk, who took command in 2385, Stardate 61384.51, when Hawk was given command of Task Force Gamma in the 31st Fleet.

Ship mottoEdit

"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear."
