By 2375, the Annan was under the command of Captain Jayce Delan. The ship was also assigned to Section 214C. That year the Annan was ordered to pursue and capture the Type-11 shuttlecraft Brumby that had been stolen by Lieutenant Commander Kristin Sela as she fled from the section with classified material and had taken Captain Jonathan Masters as a hostage. The Annan caught up with the slower shuttle and opened fire on the vessel. The Annan temporarily lost the Brumby after it was hit by an inverse graviton burst, which dispersed its warp field. The Annan caught up with the shuttle as the shuttle entered the atmosphere of Caprius III, it then severely damaged the shuttle sending it crashing to the surface. ("Section 214C")
The Annan deployed search parties to the surface of the planet to find the crew of the shuttle. With the report of the shuttle's crash and the death of Captain Masters in the incident the ship travelled to the Naos system where it set up a fake crash site before meeting with the USS Swiftfire-A to transfer the 'remains' of the shuttle to that ship.
The crew of the Swiftfire eventually saw through the ruse and confronted the Annan in the Caprius system. Delan used the Annan to keep the Swiftfire from orbit and on at least two occasions fired warning shots at the Swiftfire. A battle between the two ships was narrowly averted with the death of Sela and the rescue of Captain Masters. Sela's body and belongings were transferred to the Annan. A pair of Starfleet Intelligence officers transported from the Annan to the Swiftfire to debrief Masters. ("Crossfire")
