The USS Abraham Lincoln (NCC-71187) (also referred to as the Abe Lincoln or the Lincoln) was a Galaxy-class large exploration cruiser on active duty in Starfleet from the late 24th to the 25th centuries. (Bait and Switch)

History[]

The Lincoln was in service by the mid-2370s, and was refitted as a fighter carrier for the Dominion War. (Red Fire, Red Planet)

In 2405 the Lincoln was part of the Starfleet response to the Klingon deportation operation on Korvat, and deployed fighters in defense of a Starfleet installation. Athezra Darrod later told Kanril Eleya that if it hadn't been for the Lincoln they would've been overrun. (Bait and Switch)

In 2409 the Lincoln responded to a Klingon Defense Force raid on Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards. The ship engaged several Klingon birds-of-prey involved in the attack, destroying the IKS Qap'gargh, but was then forced to retreat under cover of its load of Peregrine-class fighters after suffering a hull breach and a hit to the hangar. (Red Fire, Red Planet)

By 2410 the Lincoln had been repaired, and was assigned to a battle group sent to reinforce Vice Admiral Marama Reynolds in the Delta Quadrant under the command of Vagret Ldone. ("Tinker, Golfer, Doctor, Trill")

Nomenclature[]

The Lincoln was presumably named for the 19th century Human politician who was the 16th President of the United States on Earth, as well as for various seagoing and spacegoing vessels named after the president.
