While at Starbase Expanse 7 to undergo repairs and drop off the civilians from Lelar Prime, the USS Cantabrian crew take some much needed R & R. But a trader they have come to know and trust now supplies them with information of survivors from Starbase Expanse 3, Starbase Expanse 4 and other ships hit in "Catalyst, Parts One and Two". Yh'ahni, following a promise she made to a crewmate to look after her family if anything happened to her, leaves with the trader, heading towards the Myhr'an internment camp in an attempt to free survivors, with the Cantabrian trailing close behind. But is all what it seems? Or is this too good to be true?
- The title "Two Hit, One Stone" is based on the lyrics from Sheryl Crow's song, "Hard To Make A Stand" which states, "And the daily news said, 'Two with one stone'". One of the verses in the same song inspired this story: "We got loud guitars and big suspicions/Great big guns and small ambitions/And we still argue over who is God".
- This episode marks both Liam de Gaillimhe's and the USS Aotearoa's first appearances.
