Charles Tucker III, known affectionately as Trip, was an officer in the Earth Starfleet during the mid-22nd century. As a Commander in the 2150s, he held the position of chief engineer aboard Earth's first warp five-capable starship, Enterprise (NX-01). For several months in 2154, he served a brief stint in that capacity aboard the Columbia (NX-02). He was reported killed in 2161. (ENT: "Broken Bow", "Affliction", "These Are the Voyages...", et. al)
In files known only to Section 31, it was revealed that Tucker had not been killed in that instance in 2161, and instead was recruited by the rogue spy agency to infiltrate the Romulan Star Empire.
