The Starfleet Medical Academy was a Starfleet medical school which was associated with both Starfleet Medical and Starfleet Academy. Students who wished to become doctors or nurses in Starfleet would normally be trained at the Medical Academy.
By the 2360s, Admiral Selok served as Head of the Academy while also serving as a lecturer. One of his many students was Julian Bashir. (DS9 novel: Warchild; Star Trek: Daedalus)
