Starbase 22 was a United Federation of Planets facility active in the 23rd century.

The base was the destination of USS Enterprise after its encounter with a being claiming to be the Mayan god Kukulkan. (TAS: "How Sharper Than A Serpent's Tooth")

In the 2270s, the base was commanded by Commodore David Fein. It was in the general vicinity of "thataway", the heading James T. Kirk ordered after the V'Ger incident. (TOS novel: Ex Machina)

In October, 2288, Starbase 22 dispatched orders to USS Avenger to investigate the disappearance of the skiff Monarch Butterfly in the Menrik star system. Following its recovery, the skiff was towed to the starbase. (Star Trek: Avenger: "Rescue at Menrik")
