Star Trek: Shepard is a Star Trek-based fan fiction series that takes place in the late 24th century, created by Patrick Dorris. Star Trek: Shepard involves the adventures of the captain and crew of the Oberth-class starship USS Shepard.

The series begins almost a year after the end of the Dominion War. Although most of the crew are green and never saw action in the war, several senior officers did see action. Due to heavy losses during the war, the Shepard's crew is both more junior and more diverse than a typical Starfleet crew. The "captain" is only a lieutenant commander, and the chief engineer is a retired master chief recalled to duty specifically for this assignment. Humans makeup only half of the crew and command staff, with other species making up the other.
