Sol

Sol is a class G main sequence yellow dwarf star located in Sector 001 approximately 25,000 light years from the center of the galaxy.

It is the single star at the center of the Sol system and is orbited by eight planets (at the time of this writing). It is also referred to as the Sun by the native species of the third planet.
