Sexology was the scientific study of sexuality. Practitioners were known as sexologists.
In both Lyran and U'lanna societies, sexology was considered a medical specialty. Due to its intimate nature, it was the most shameful of all medical specialties in the Lyrans' eyes; however, it wasn't nearly as shameful for the U'lanna. The only university in the Lyran Star Empire that granted SexDs was, in fact, the only U'lanna-operated university, the Imperial College of Sexology, founded in 2402. U'lanna clinical training took the form of a degree program known as a Doctor of Sexology, abbreviated SexD. The Imperial College of Sexology admitted students to the SexD program, which lasted for four years, as undergraduates.
