The Scorpion-class was a Federation designed attack fighter that saw service in the 24th century. (Star Trek: Swiftfire)

The class was produced exclusively by Starfleet Intelligence for use by Special Operations Command during the Dominion War. It was considered a classified design and normal officers in Starfleet were not aware of its existence or capabilities. ("A Dreadful Operation", "Always on My Mind")

Banshee Squadron (VSF-6501) briefly flew Scorpion class fighters during 2383. (Star Trek: Banshee Squadron: "The Black Gate")

It was equipped with several advanced systems. The class was equipped with deployable armour plating that would add extra protection to vital areas of the craft, such as the cockpit and nacelles. The cockpit that made use of extensive holographic interface. This allowed some customisability in the layout of the controls of the fighter and when the armour was deployed over the cockpit the view of space around the fighter could be protected. The ship also included a neural interface. ("A Dreadful Operation")
