The Qa'cheng class was a type of strike frigate that saw service in the Klingon Empire during the 24th century. It entered service in 2371. (Ship Recognition Manual, Volume 3: Ships of the Klingon Empire; The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon)

The class was designed to for scouting and reconnaissance missions into highly dangerous territory. It can undertake quick raids against enemy positions and escort duties. Its speed, maneuverability and strike power quickly made it a popular design. It proved to be well suited for the Klingon's needs during the Dominion War. They were able to launch success stealthy attacks and intelligence gathering missions.

The Qa'cheng had an axehead shaped detachable forward module containing weapons with the bridge set immediately aft of the module in a trapezoid shaped section. A central shaft connects to the roughly rectangular main hull with a wedge shaped superstructure.
