He likely had three wives (ENT: "Dear Doctor").

Fanon Continuities[]

In Between Days[]

On January 18, 2155, Hoshi Sato had Phlox and Malcolm Reed killed as a part of consolidating her recently obtained power. The method for both was lethal injection, administered by Elizabeth Cutler, under the direction of the new doctor, Cyril Morgan. Phlox was injected with replicator orange juice, which caused a painful, lingering death. (In Between Days: Throwing Rocks at Looking Glass Houses)

Before In a Mirror, Darkly[]

Phlox assisted Commander Tucker in his efforts to prove that a Vissian cogenitor was just as intelligent as the other two genders of the species. However, he also carried out a punishment on Tucker on the order of Captain Forrest with the assistance of Corporal Elizabeth Cutler in response to Tucker causing diplomatic problems with the Vissians. Following the capture of the Vissian vessel, Phlox carried out several experiments on the crew, such as the chief engineer who'd been using the cogenitor. (Before In a Mirror, Darkly: Cogenitor)

Phlox was known to carry out vicious experiments on Antarans and Paragans, while also keeping a variety of creatures in sickbay to supplement conventional medicine. He was friends with the equally vicious Chef, and had several wives and co-husbands he always sought to impress. (Before In a Mirror, Darkly: Interlude)

After the Xindi attack on Earth, Phlox stayed at Starfleet Command when the crew spend time on Earth during a refit. He planned to go for a walk despite Lieutenant Hoshi Sato's warnings that the only place in San Francisco safe for aliens after a rise in xenophobia was Starfleet Command. Phlox was confident he would not be harmed if he took Porthos with him, though the theory was never tested as the crew were soon returned to Enterprise to start the mission to find the Xindi. (Before In a Mirror, Darkly: A Crisis on Earth)

Memorable Quotes[]

"I just helped out with the idea about conducting a synaptic scan so as to stimulate a subject’s pain center. Reed did most of the work. I’m a doctor, not an engineer."
