- The alien vessel is a CG model of Darth Vader's Super Star Destroyer. This episode is not, however, a Star Wars crossover. The model was the only one large enough to meet the demands of the story.
- Much of Knapp and Shelby's dialogue from the end of the episode is taken nearly word-for-word from the West Wing episode "And It's Surely to Their Credit".
