In the mirror universe, Nyota Uhura was a Terran female who served as communications aboard the ISS Enterprise in the 2260s.
In 2267, Uhura accompanied Captain James T. Kirk to the surface of Halka to discuss the acquisition of the planet's dilithium deposits for the Empire. When negotiations failed, Kirk and party beamed back up to the ship but an ion storm caused the party to be replaced by the primary universe counterparts. Thankfully, the transport was eventually reversed. (TOS: "Mirror, Mirror")
Following this mission, Uhura and the party were ordered not to reveal any information about the crossover to the crew, yet the majority of the crew seemed to know about it after a few weeks. Following Kirk's assassination, Uhura continued to serve as communications officer under Spock. However, as Spock began to instigate his plans to reform the Terran Empire, Uhura, Leonard McCoy and Montgomery Scott began to conspire to remove Spock from command, however Uhura became quite vocal about her plans to assassinate Spock and she was summarily killed by Spock using the Tantalus field. (TOS novel: The Sorrows of Empire)
Alternate continuities[]
The Final Days[]
In this continuity Uhura worked with Montgomery Scott and Hikaru Sulu to develop ways to deliberately cross over into other universes. She and Sulu eventually earned theta designations by helping the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance conduct its own crossover research.
