The Nebula-class was a class of exploratory cruiser that saw service in Starfleet during the 24th century.
The maximum evacuation capacity of Nebula-class ships were 9,800 people. (Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual)
Its modular design allowed Nebulas to serve a variety of purposes by housing either an advanced sensor package or a weapons platform. While equipped with the weapons platform, the Nebula-class was designated a battle cruiser, while not being as heavily armored as battlecruisers fielded by other races.
