Nathan Greenwald was a Starfleet officer who served during the 24th century. He served both as a member of Starfleet's elite SEALs, and as an aide to Rear Admiral Willy Hoyt. (Star Trek: The Nomad Frontier)

Early CareerEdit

Much of Greenwald's early career remains buried by Starfleet Intelligence. It is known, however, that at one point, he served with SEAL Team Five, during the Federation-Cardassian War.

Starfleet IntelligenceEdit

At some point prior to 2370, Greenwald began serving as an aide to Admiral Hoyt. Captain James Farrell suspected that this innocuous assignment was merely a cover for his real activities. During his posting, Admiral Hoyt was responsible for Starfleet Intelligence's "Black Ops" programs.

In 2371, Greenwald conspired with Admiral Hoyt to carry out Operation Archangel, an illegal operation against the Cardassians. When Captain Farrell discovered their plan, Greenwald was sent by Hoyt to kill him. During a confrontation between the two men, Farrell was forced to kill Greenwald. In order to maintain the secrecy of the operation and avoid a war with the Cardassian Union, Starfleet officially listed Greenwald as having defected to the Maquis. (ST: TNF "Archangel")
