The USS Ambassador (NCC-10521) was the prototype of the Ambassador-class heavy cruisers that saw service with the Federation Starfleet during the 24th century. It was launched in 2322 (Star Trek Encyclopedia; Ship Recognition Manual, Volume 1: The Ships of Starfleet)

Prior to its official launch, Ambassador underwent testbed trials at Helaspont Station near Tzenkethi space in 2319. (Star Trek: The Lost Era novel: One Constant Star)

Following its retirement from active service sometime prior to 2371, the Ambassador was placed in the Federation salvage yard at Qualor II, where it disappeared without a trace. The USS Enterprise-D, transported to the mysterious Kelvin timeline, later discovered it in possession of a crew of beings under the aegis of a group known as the Scarlett Army.

After being reassured that the Ambassador was legally acquired by the Scarlett Army from Qualor II, the Ambassador was taken to Starbase Yorktown for a refit by its engineers and the being known as Q. The Ambassador became known as the DDV Enterprise SAV-1701-A, where it remained in Scarlett Army service. (30 Worlds: Megaforce: "Golden Voyagers")

Following the final defeat of the Army of Inter-Universal Chaos, King William of Cinnabar used his special powers to restore the DDV Enterprise-A to her original Starfleet service condition for display in the Fleet Museum.

Before returning to his home dimension, William and the Bridge crew of the DDV Gansett saluted the Ambassador in honor of her service as the DDV Enterprise-A and in the hopes that she would serve the Museum well. (30 Worlds: Royal Megaforce: "Masters of the Ultimate Power")
