Murder Grove is the eighth episode in the Star Trek: False Vacuum series, launched on July 24th, 2015.
Summary[]
Due to a new lead in the investigation of Metraux's murder, a new suspect, Kimblis, was interrogated. He was found to have been on duty in the hazardous materials bay in the suspicious timeframe, but also that the murder was masterminded in the shadows of Starfleet. Afterward, Starfleet News Service covered the murder investigation and interrogated Sadie Naath for her involvement in the crime, revealing her frustration with the Judge Advocate General withholding information to the eyes of the public, while revealing that Kimblis was bribed by Tamara Savannah in the latter's attempt to gain white kryptonite.
Moments after this revelation, the ground-based facility of Unity Three Starbase was under attack by an army of robotic soldiers, and the 182nd Tactical Fighter Wing was dispatched to deal with this threat; meanwhile False Vacuum and Powerleveling Squadrons were grounded but FV Sqdn stood ground as the base's automated ground defenses were destroyed and discovered the robots' weakness: they are ineffectual at point-blank range, a fact that Catherine Mouranger used to great effect as the robots closed in on the base's brig. Powerleveling Squadron was thus launched upon detection of the source of the robots in an attempt to destroy a Celestra-class destroyer and a Starstreak-class freighter. After the Battle of Azkapanama was over, roll call was held as Dunames Lopez counseled a sensor specialist about law school prior to FV Sqdn ferrying the suspects to Starbase 182.
