Monica McDonald

Ensign Monica McDonald - Monica had moved up the ranks to where she was at rather mysterious. She was an able engineer and was very smart in many other areas.

Monica was an expert in ship’s systems. She was not a big picture person – tunnel versioned – but has a great personality and a quick study (she had a photographic memory). She was recruited by Section 31 as an operative, unbeknownst to anyone on the crew – including her boyfriend Tim Samuel. She had genuine feelings for Tim, which could become compromised if anyone knew her history. She was psychic (hence Section 31’s interest) and seemed to have intermittent connections to species with higher brain functions (i.e. Romulans, Vulcans, etc.). She had out-of-body encounters with Romulans, however, she saw them as humans or Vulcans. There by one of the few humans to have see a romulan until 2266.

While aboard the NES Avalon which stuck a gravitic mine, Samuels and McDonald contained the warp core breach and were deemed “Hero of the Avalon”. However, McDonald did not survive when she received a lethal dose of Delta Radiation from the leaking core.  (Star Trek: The Romulan Wars)
