Manuka (Latin name Leptospermum scoparium) is a shrub or small tree native to New Zealand and southeast Australia, where it is called a tea tree. Found throughout New Zealand, it is particularly common on the drier east coasts of the North Island and the South Island (in areas such as Christchurch), and in Australia in Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales.

In 2372, Captain Noah Wrightson had manuka, amongst other plants, growing in the private Captain's arboretum. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Catalyst, Part One")

Manuka is the Māori name used in New Zealand, and tea tree is a common name used in Australia and to a lesser extent also in New Zealand. It is pronounced "mah-NOO-kah".
