Lyran ranks

Lyran military uniforms consisted of a simple, brown leather tunic with the Lyran Star Empire's symbol embroidered over the left side of the chest and rank insignia pinned on the collar. Any other apparel was supplied by the officers themselves, such as belts and holsters to carry weapons and equipment.
Lyran uniforms had no division colors or insignia. The only real divisions the Star Empire's military had were ground forces and astronauts, who wore the same uniforms.
From time to time the higher admiral ranks had been decommissioned, in part because the size of the county fleets grew too small for them to be necessary and also to give the counts more direct authority over their armed services. There is no grade higher than the "three-star" admiral/general, for the very reason that each fleet belongs to a county, and the counts are equivalent to four-star generals, and dukes five-star generals.
