"Lazarus" was the second "unofficial" episode of Star Trek: Phoenix-X and the second "unofficial" episode of the fourth season. It was the second Star Trek: Phoenix-X entry written for the Star Trek Online: Unofficial Literary Challenge and was an entry for the fifth challenge of those unofficial challenges. Like the first, this episode focuses on the crew of the USS Crucial.

Summary

Grunley, Chief engineer of the USS Crucial dies on Kobali Prime and becomes the target of Kobali revivalists.

Background information

• This was the third Star Trek: Phoenix-X story to focus solely on the Crucial; the first was "Crucial", a spin-off that was eventually integrated into Star Trek: Phoenix-X.
• The title "Lazarus" was created, in 2014, by Star Trek Online forums user ambassadormolari, the author of the Star Trek Online: Unofficial Literary Challenge prompt this episode is based on.
• This episode is a sequel to "Second Life" in which the crew are brought back and forth through time.
