[edit] Culture and Politics
The native race of Kressgon are known as Kressgonians, a spiritual name, although, unusually for a culture of their level, they no longer worship any "God" entity.
Large tribes or clans of Kressgonians live on a large area of land in the northern areas of the planet, and although there have been many tribal wars over the past two hundred years, most are now united. The clans still claim land and territory, however, wanting to maintain their identity, and an average clan has around 600-700 members. Kressgon is a Federation protectorate.
[edit] N00b clan
The N00b clan is an economicly poor tribe on Kressgon, with few resources and land. They do, however, possess the planet's Stargate in one of their villages, as well as having access to the Iconian Dome at the edge of their territory. Despite being smaller, the N00bs are rich with traditional Kressgonian culture, with trades such as farming, weaving and woodwork. Most N00b females have blonde hair.
[edit] Chov clan
In control of Kressgon city, the Chovs are wealthy and strong clan, although somewhat pretentious in their attitude towards other, poorer clans.
[edit] Geographical
Kressgon is like many M class worlds. There is a large proportion of ocean on the surface and much of the land is forest-like.
[edit] Historical
[edit] First Contact
Due to a lack of Space Warp technology, First Contact had not been made by the Federation. However, in 2385, a Romulan warbird made a survey of the planet, in which the Warbird itself entered the atmosphere. Although cloaked, the atmosphere revealed the Warbird and rather than leave and go to the expense of covering up the scene, the Romulan commander made First Contact under peaceful terms. The native tribes of Kressgon were made aware of the galactic community and now respect and accept the Federation's guidance.

In March 2386, the Kressgoni star was undergoing an annual solar ejection which was a unique event in the sector. Starfleet sent the senior staff from Unity One Starbase (Puto, Lewis and Jono) to observe the event using an enhanced telescope. About a day before the solar ejection occurred, however, a Borg Harvester vessel entered the system, scouting for a planetry system in which to re-build after the Borg's crippling defeat, three months before. This was detected by the team and the Harvester dropped into low orbit of the planet, using assimilation beams to take control of Kressgon City, leaving the outer areas un-assimilated. The Unity team had to escape through an Iconian Stargate, however the Federation starship USS Pentok, under the command of Captain Lisa Coventry, was in the system, conducting a survey mission of its own and forced the Borg vessel into retreat. Whilst the Harvester was away conducting an attack at Unity One Starbase, the planet was under control of about two-hundred Borg drones, which under orders from above, did not assimilate the population, instead holding them prisoner in preparation for the Harvester's return. An energy link between the Harvester and the planet's core was created to provide huge amounts of power to the Borg vessel. A number of Kressgonians on the outskirts of Kressgon City were able to form a resistance, and hid from drones in the forests.
Several hours later, the Borg Harvester returned and assimilation of the city and it's population began. An assault by Starfleet, led by Puto, Lewis, Jono, Prax and Lisa Coventry, started very shortly after, both over the planet, with the USS Odyssey-A and USS Pentok attacking the Borg Harvester, and through the Iconian Stargate, with Starfleet troops engaging with the Borg drones. Early on in the ground battle, Starfleet rounded up the Kressgonian resistance fighters and together they invaded the assimilated city, destroying all of the Borg left. Captain Puto also cut off the Harvester's power supply to Kressgon's molten core, lowering the Harvester's head shields in time for the Kressgoni solar ejection to vaporise it.
The Borg had been defeated, and although Kressgon had suffered the assimilation of it's central city and about twenty-five to thirty natives, the damage could have been a lot worse. The assistance of Starfleet in defending the planet would go a long way to strengthen the friendship between the Federation and the Tribes of Kressgon.

Several months later, nearing the conclusion of the Borg Conflict, the Guardian of Forever revealed that the entranceway to the Cruciform, a device that seeded humanoid life millions of years ago by the Guardians, was located inside Kressgon's Iconian Dome. Puto and Lewis needed to seal this entranceway to prevent the Borg Queen from using it to assimilate the galaxy instantly, and thus, Unity One Starbase was moved into orbit of Kressgon along with a combined Federation Alliance fleet, to defend the planet from the Queen's forces. Captain Puto on the USS Odyssey-A and Captain Samuel Hawkins of Unity Starbase led the attack on a massive Borg armada whilst Captain Lewis, Jono, Becky, Jade, Rakelli Prime Minister Jimb'a as well as the united Kressgonian clans defened the planet's surface from drones. The battle started when a single cube was able to bypass the orbiting Starfleet vessels and dispatched four small attack spheres to bomb the ground defenses and the Iconian dome. With a defence shield around the dome, and enemy anti-air units targeting the spheres, the Borg were unable to score a quick victory, and the cube then lowered itself further into the atmosphere to beam down a formation of drones onto Kressgon beach. In orbit, the Borg opened fire on a Klingon Bird of Prey, destroying it, and staged many similar sudden attacks at that moment, catching the Federation fleet off-guard. However, the two armadas were evenly matched and the battle in space became a stand-off.
On the surface, the first two waves of drones were defeated by the Starfleet army, but with heavy losses and injuries. Even Jono sustained a leg wound. Both on the ground and in space, the Borg required re-enforcements, and paused for a moment as they waited for more ships to arrive.
Whilst this gave Starfleet some breathing room, it became clear that the coming fleet would crush the Federation's. Captain Puto used this time and beamed down to the Iconian Dome, blowing it up with explosives. Due to a deal with the ascended Iconians, a small group of Iconian vessels suddenly appeared in space and slaughtered the Borg, destroying almost all of the cubes in a matter of moments with vastly more powerful weapons. The Federation Alliance had defeated the Borg once again, not without the help of many allies, however. The final battle occured next to the burning remains of the Dome as the Borg Queen herself and a Green Warrior faced off against Puto, Lewis and Jono, ending with the warrior dead, and the Queen shot in the back by Becky and Jade.
This battle was a huge success for the Federation, ending the Borg Conflict and forcing what was left of the collective back to the Delta Quadrant. It is also a key example of a united galaxy, with no fewer than five major powers taking part in Kressgon's defense. Afterward, the Kressgonian's began to rebuild the damage to their world, with Starfleet's help.
