Kosnett was a Starfleet captain commanding the USS Kongo (NCC-1710).
Captain Kosnett was killed sometime before Stardate 5713.1 when the Kongo was attacked by Tressaurians. He was found dead in the corridors of the stardrive section of the Kongo by John Garrovick and Paul Cutty, two of his former officers. (Starship Exeter)
Background[]
In Starfleet Command (game) and, by extension, Star Fleet Battles, he was portrayed as an officer that rose to high rank in Starfleet and, in turn, was named after one of SFB's original designers. The Star Fleet Battles creators took the name from a real-world game designer, Philip Kosnett.
