Kelly served aboard the USS Hood as second officer under Captain Robert DeSoto When the Hood came under attack by the Jem'Hadar, they required assistance from the USS Baldwin. (USS Baldwin: "The Find") Afterward, Captain DeSoto was ordered to take command of the new USS Edmund Fitzgerald. Captain DeSoto picked Kelly as his new executive officer. (USS Baldwin: "Wartime Productions")

FamilyEdit

Kelly has a younger sister, Jaimie, who was the alpha-shift tactical officer of USS Baldwin in 2374 when Baldwin assisted Hood. (USS Baldwin: "The Find") Jaimie was also present at the Edmund Fitzgerald's launch. (USS Baldwin: "Wartime Productions")

The two sisters kept in touch whenever they could. After Jaimie was promoted to Baldwin's XO position, Jaimie turned to her older sister for advice. In particular, Jaimie was concerned about facing an unknown adversary. (USS Baldwin: "Trouble in Paradise")
