Kanar (Cardăsda: kănar) was a Cardassian alcoholic beverage. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)
It was commonly believed that the blue-colored Hăzăkda kănar was mixed with Romulan ale, but the two drinks had no connection other than color. (Star Trek: Sigils and Unions: The Thirteenth Order)
During the Occupation of Bajor, the Cardassian occupation forces forced local Bajorans to distill kanar from local ingredients, producing a spirit with different flavors from Cardassia Prime's kanar. After the withdrawal, at least one distillery, located outside the city of Hathon, continued to manufacture kanar (though Ambassador Rugan Skyl attempted to obtain an Occupation vintage and was violently rebuffed by Gul Tayben Berat). Kanar was also incorporated into a Bajoran-developed mixed drink called the Hathon hammer, alongside bloodwine and kava juice. (Star Trek Online; "Past Continuous"; Bait and Switch)
