Jestra V (sometimes referred to as, merely, Jestra) was the fifth planet in the Jestra System, located in the Gamma Quadrant. It was colonized by the Federation with the Dominion's consent. (Star Trek: Brave New Worlds)

Jestra was once a Nor'Shizi homeplanet, until the Dominion took over and forced all the Nor'Shizi off.
After the Dominion War in the Alpha Quadrant, the Dominion agreed to let the Federation colonize one of their planets in the Gamma Quadrant for the sake of good relations and the Federation's sake of exploration.
After a year of colonizing Jestra V, and putting a Federation Starbase in orbit, the Nor'Shizi decided to launch an attack to get their planet back. Unfortunately, they were fought off and the planet remained as part of the Gamma Federation. (BNW: "Brave New Worlds")
In 2382, half the planet became infested with the large growing Kei tentacle species. Thus, anyone living on that one half of the planet was evacuated. (BNW: "Threads of Fate")

As of 2382, one side of the planet was thrusted with large green tentacle arms, reaching out into space. These originated from the Kei in the catacombs beneath the planet which used to nurish the Nor'Shizi`s dead. For the most part, the tentacles point toward the Nor'Shizi homeworld, lightyears away, as a "longing" for the Nor'Shizi. (BNW: "Threads of Fate")
