Jeri Allston was a Starfleet officer who served during the 24th century. Her last assignment was on the USS Swiftfire (NCC-76125) as the vessel's commanding officer. She was killed in 2372 when the ship was attacked by Klingon forces while on patrol of the Cardassian border. (Star Trek: Swiftfire}
Allston started serving on the Swiftfire at some point prior to 2352. She would eventually become the vessel's commanding officer.
Allston was in command of the Swiftfire in 2366. Her swift action saved the life of Lieutenant Jonathan Masters during the Hyralan Incident. Masters had set the USS Sherman into a collision course with a D'deridex-class warbird and just prior to impact the Swiftfire swooped in and beamed him from the doomed vessel.
In 2369 she requested that Masters be transferred to the Swiftfire to replace her outgoing First officer. Three years later she recommended to Admiral Hastur that he be considered for his own command despite the fact she would have preferred for him to remain on the Swiftfire as he was one of the finest officers she had served with.
During the Second Federation-Klingon War in 2372, Allston was killed also with the entire crew of the Swiftfire after it strayed into territory conquered by the Klingon Empire during the Klingon-Cardassian War. The IKS Wo'tang delivered the ship's log buoy to the USS Southern Cross as evidence of the ship's destruction. Captain Benjamin Sisko suggested that Allston might have purposely taken the ship into Klingon space looking for revenge after a boarding action by the Klingons left fifty members of the crew dead, though he agreed with Masters assertion that it would have been out of character for her to do that.
