Jennifer Douglas was a Starfleet officer from the 24th century. (Star Trek: Swiftfire)
By 2373 Douglas had reached the rank of Rear Admiral and had been placed in command of the USS Venture. In the middle of that year she commanded a Starfleet task force that assisted the Klingons in hunting for the renegade USS Fury. ("Vengeance")
At the start of the Dominion War Douglas and the Venture joined the Fifth fleet and was in command of the 59th Tactical Wing. As a high ranking officer in the fleet she was part of the committee that organised the defences of the Guyra system prior the the Battle of Guyra. Towards the end of the battle with Admirals Victor Harvey and Cameron Brand out of action she took command of the fleet and ordered a retreat, which was covered by her tactical wing. ("Over the Horizon")
During the Raid on Sector 432 Douglas was placed in command of the Starfleet contingent of the joint Klingon-Federation attack force. She approved Captain Jonathan Masters plan to deploy a small group of Starfleet Marines to the repair docks to bring down the station's shields. ("Pressure Points")
Douglas was in command of the elements from the Fifth fleet that joined the Federation fleet for Operation Return. After Captain Sisko's ship broke through the Dominion lines and departed for Deep Space 9 Douglas took over command of the fleet and rallied it fight for a further three hours before breaking the Dominion's lines. ("Rode the 600")
After Operation Return the 59th Tactical Wing was reformed into the Task Force 59, with Douglas in command. The task force would spend several weeks hunting the front for an elusive Jem'Hadar super carrier that was supply the Dominion's war effort in the area. After running into the USS Swiftfire-A she incorporated it into her attack plans. ("Task Force 59")
When the task force was reorganised in mid-2374, Douglas requested the USS Swiftfire-A be transferred to serve with the Task Force 59. ("No Rest for the Wicked")
When the Swiftfire went missing after a battle with Dominion forces Douglas initially refused to go looking for the ship so to keep the defensive effort at the front at full strength. She eventually allowed one vessel to be dispatched to search for the missing vessel. After receiving word that the Battle of Betazed was under way she took the task force and made a dash to Betazed in an effort to reinforce the defenders. Despite her concerns for patrolling the front she left only one vessel behind to patrol such was the importance of trying to reach Betazed. Unfortunately the battle was over before the task force could arrive and it was forced to turn back. ("Change in Command")
Douglas organised the failed attempt to protect a disable Federation starliner that had been evacuating people close to the front. She however had taken the precaution to transfer the civilians off the vessel and send them to safety before the Jem'Hadar attacked the task force. ("Waiting for the Sun")
In 2375 Douglas had to inform the crew of the Swiftfire about the death of their captain. She allowed the Swiftfire to leave its patrol to meet up with the vessel that had recovered the wreckage of Masters' destroyed shuttle. She also used her authorisation to transfer the Swiftfire's command codes to Commander Susan Core elevating her from first officer to commanding officer of the ship. ("Section 214C")
Douglas was considered a fair and easy to work with officer. She was known for having a very calm and patient demeanour. Despite her rank she was more then willing to ask for help or receive help from her subordinates in tactical and operational planning. However she did not appreciate it when they went over her head to get things done. ("Change in Command", "Section 214C")
