Goffan IV was a Class B planet in the Goffan system under the control of the Jenchum Suzerainty. The planet had one of the heaviest deposits of molocine known to the Federation.

The planet had no atmosphere. We assume this because both Starfleet and Jenchum officers had to wear EV suits on the surface.

In 2367, the USS Prospect was in orbit of Goffan IV to carry out sensor tests to improve the reliability in detecting molocine both adequately and accurately. An engineering away team, led by Commander James Lee, went to the surface to calibrate various equipment. With the assistance of a Jenchum away team from the Jenchum battle cruiser, led by first officer Methia, the team made leaps and bounds in sensors detecting molocine.
