Gabriel José García Márquez, also known as Gabo, was one of Earth's greatest 20th century Latin American authors. Most historians credit him with introducing the concept of magical realism to readers around the globe.

Márquez wrote many influential stories, non-fiction and novels, including One Hundred Years of Solitude and Love in the Time of Cholera.

Cantabrian counselor Daniel Radke was an avid fan of Márquez's work, having read One Hundred Years of Solitude at least a dozen times. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Isolation")
