Flortarios III was a trade planet at the Cardassian-Federation border. The inhabitants are of the Flortarios species, but most of the population is alien inhabitants and alien visitors. (Star Trek: Phoenix-X)

The planet became caught between the Federation and the Cardassians during the Federation-Cardassian War in the late 2340s. Both sides were ultimately forced off by an unknown powerful alien life-form who was living on the surface of the planet. ("The Bajoran Trove")

In 2375 the Phoenix-X commanded a fleet to help protect this planet from the Dominion for a short while. ("Flortarios III", "The Bajoran Trove")

The government is divided by two main leader's, who each rule one half of the world. On occassian they are exposed to their own people for risque love-affair scandals. ("The Bajoran Trove")

The planet contains many cities, but rocky mountains containing caves and underground passageways can be found in abundance. ("Experimentalism")

• The planet name was derived from combining both the names "Ontario" and "Florida".
