Star Trek: The Farthest Star (TFS) is a Star Trek-based fan fiction series primarily based during the 24th century in the prime timeline.
History[]
Star Trek: The Farthest Star originally started life as Star Trek: Swiftfire (SWF), a series primarily focused on the adventures of the USS Swiftfire-A during the Dominion War. TFS was first used as a title for non-Swiftfire Star Trek stories. It was decided that TFS would become the series' new name as it better represented the series wider scope than just the Swiftfire.
This change occurred in 2016 and was accompanied by a complete reboot of the series' main continuity. Nearly the entirety of SWF was removed when this happened. The exceptions were "A New Path" and "The Final Prophecy" as they were set in an alternate universe from the now main TFS continuity and the two stories that were part of the Star Trek: Unity crossover. The latter are not considered part of TFS main continuity, but remained online since they were part of the collaborative Unity event.
Stories[]
Stories in TFS are split into series. The main component is the TFS main continuity, which are stories that take place within the series' main continuity, which is set in the canon prime universe. There are currently two sub-series. The first is Spectrum, which covers stories that take place in alternate timelines from the main continuity. The second is Swiftfire, which are stories that focus on the adventures of the USS Swiftfire in the TFS continuity.
