Commander Jericho Ross was an Earth Starfleet science officer during the Earth-Romulan War.
He was chief science officer of the USS Discovery. He was handpicked as science officer by Captain Tim Samuels to fill that position and for the moral support. Jericho was a very spiritual individual. He was Samuels's confidant when it came to tough issues / decisions. The two had many shared experiences and understood each other. Jericho was somewhat mystical at times, to the point of being scary. He has a kindred understanding of the unknown, and hence the Romulans (i.e. unseen enemy). He had much wisdom, beyond his years.
