2386 field jacket

In the Star Trek: Prometheus timeline, as in the main timeline new duty Starfleet uniforms were issued in 2373 consisting of black trousers with boots, and a black jacket with Grey shoulders. Underneath, a turtleneck shirt is worn in the colors of one's division, with rank pips displayed on its collar.

Cadet's uniforms were identical in cut; although rendered in grey with a grey turtleneck shirt with the shoulders colored in the appropriate division color.

In 2386 this uniform was modified slightly to change the turtleneck's color to black and display the division color on the jacket collar and as bands on the chest and the sleeves. The 2379 rank insignias continued to be used with this uniform. The combadge that was being field tested on the Prometheus in 2379 became standard issue fleet wide. The dress and cadet uniforms remained unchanged by this uniform update.

Enlisted, cadet warrant and commissioned officer rank insignia are worn on the right side of the collar. Flag officer rank insignia are worn on both sides of the collar.

Engineering personnel and their equivalent onboard space stations were allowed to substitute the duty uniform tunic for one with three quarter length sleeves. In addition, with the commanding officer's permission, female crewmembers in all divisions were allowed to substitute the uniform tunic for one with three quarter length sleeves if they were replacing the trousers and boots with the mini-skirt and knee high boots option. This option was available for both the duty and dress uniforms.

Onboard the Prometheus Captain MacLeod had given a general permission to all female crew members to wear the female variant if and when they desired.

By 2387 Atana Ral, Tahna Malyik, Gleicy Ruiz, Erin Denali and Celes Tal were among the crew who availed themselves of the general permission.

A field jacket option was also introduced in 2386 as well. The jacket featured a false undershirt of the division color and a stripe of the division color on the left shoulder running diagonally from mid shoulder to where a combadge would attach to the jacket.
