Cave Lion class

The Cave Lion-class battleship was the largest ship fielded by the Lyran Star Empire in the 24th century. It was more maneuverable than the Federation Galaxy class and its 2385 iteration was just as maneuverable as a Norexan-class ship. (RIS Bouteina: "Battle at the Grave of Thoughts")

History

The same design staff that designed and built the Lion-class dreadnoughts in record time was commissioned to build a battleship to rival the Klingon QeylIS BetleH-class battleship. Like all things Lyran, clan politics may have interfered with the actual building of the ship. The design was similar to the Lion-class dreadnought but simply upscaled. The first ship of this class was launched in 2291. (TOS video game: Starfleet Command)

Over the years, more keels were laid down and their refitted versions became, by the late 24th century, the flagships of Lyran counts, like Fikrohn, who fought at the Grave of Thoughts at the bridge of a ship of that class. (RIS Bouteina: "Battle at the Grave of Thoughts")
